Visitors to Cheshire need look no further than their TV sets when seeking ideas for great days out in this most inspirational of counties.

With links to some of the UK's most popular series, Cheshire provides a host of possibilities for those wanting to follow in the footsteps of the stars.

Some of the most famous scenes in BBC's Pride and Prejudice were filmed at Lyme Park, near Disley - which played the role of Darcy's home, Pemberley.

Visitors to Tatton Park, a short drive west, may recognise it as being one of the main locations used in the recent adaptation of the Forsyte Saga, It has also featured in other series including Brideshead Revisited and Far from the Madding Crowd.

And Little Moreton Hall near Congleton was judged to be an ideal location by producers of Granada TV's Moll Flanders.
